FAQ
If you are struggling with family conflicts about your aging parents or grandparents, you probably want to know “How does Eldercare Mediation Work?”
Eldercare Mediation provides a structured and neutral environment where family members can openly discuss sensitive issues related to their aging loved ones. The goal is to facilitate clear communication, allowing everyone to express their opinions, feelings, and needs while working towards mutually agreeable solutions.
Unlike attorneys or social workers who advocate for specific sides, the mediator is an impartial third party who helps model and encourage effective communication, even amidst strong emotions. Participation in mediation is voluntary, so family members are generally committed to finding resolution. The process is confidential, ensuring that sensitive topics, such as potential elder abuse, can be addressed safely.
Typically, families start with a half-day session, but they often choose to have multiple sessions as needed. These sessions can be held in person or via Zoom.
